WHO ARE WE?

BACKGROUND

We are Bakayola Arts center and we give children in the slums in Kenya the opportunity to develop themselves by teaching them to create drums, play percussion and dance by sharing our cultural heritage trough rhythm and dance. We guide them to keep them focused on the good things in life and let them forget the daily problems, motivate them to go to school and give them opportunity to be an artist! And now we are bringing our passion and work to abroad so we can share the special effects of playing percussion for the youth.

Bakayola Arts Centre was established in 2014 and is located in the capital city of Kenya, Nairobi, the centre is housed by the county government of Nairobi at Muthurwa social centre.

We are an arts centre and creativity , a learning organization built upon an extraordinary legacy of excellency in artistic and creative development and many more. We are a centre that specializes in creating exquisite arts and artworks that speak and reflect the traditional heritage of the Nairobi people and Kenya at large

We have collaborated with local and international institutions to produce unique and bespoke products, while also facilitating various art events.

We want to ensure that art lovers, seekers, and producers have the best products to express their passion. We also encourage giving out various trainings and workshops encouraging capacity building.

Additionally, we serve as consultants in art development and content development for firms and individuals alike. We like to share our knowledge of art with our communities while also working with artists to generate attraction and high value for their products.

Our artists and groups deploy their creative and artistic skills to deliver unique and exquisite masterpieces of artistic works for communities.

The centre runs a number of art programs for both children and adults, it offers programs including dance lessons, music making, instruments making, capacity building, team building activities, seasonal events and other social development activities.
